Hijiki has a rich, slightly bittersweet taste and firm texture after soaking it in water; works well with various foods. This seaweed is rich in fiber and is used in many different Japanese dishes, e. g. onigiri. It is believed to also keep one’s hair healthy.
How To Enjoy
Please soak hijiki in water for about 30 minutes before use.
-Simmer with dashi, soy sauce, mirin and sugar to achieve traditional Japanese flavor.
-Add to paste to achieve an interesting taste.
-Use as a topping on boiled rice.
